Fun in the sun in Alum Rock
SUMMER arrived at last as families soaked up the sun at a community fun day in Alum Rock.
Scores of residents turned out to enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including face painting, a bouncy castle, and pick up advice on healthy living at the event at Alum Rock Community Centre, Ward Close, on Saturday 20 September.
Affordable housing provider, William Sutton Homes, teamed up with Washwood Heath Children’s Centre and environmental regeneration charity Groundwork to organise the event which was designed to get local residents more involved in the community.
Paul Smith, regional manager for William Sutton Homes, said: “We helped organise the fun day as part of our commitment to community investment. We are delighted to have been involved with such a fantastic event which demonstrates the great community spirit in Alum Rock.”
